Out of respect for my dignity, I decided not to mention the slew of schools that have been trickling rejection letters into my mailbox lately. Let’s just say there have been several.
Cornell — I originally applied to Cornell “early action.” They decided to “defer” my application to the “regular application pool.” They finally got around to reviewing it for a second time. Their decision was… to place my application “on reserve” for a third review.
A handfull of other respectable schools that I’d love to attend have me on various kinds of wait lists — Northwestern, Michigan, Georgetown and UCLA.
Still only two acceptances — Boston University and Boston College. BU has already offered me a $20,000/year scholarship.
Just today I found out from BC that they are offering me a $15,000/year scholarship. Both schools are almost exactly the same price.
